Spring Breather

It's Winter.....I mean Spring break in Virginia! The snow is falling and the plows are out. Maybe in your area you are enjoying some sunny spring weather! Regardless of whether you are experience snow, hail or sunshine, this is the time of year to take a little breather.

Around this time of year, homeschool families tend to start thinking about testing, wrapping up any last minute planning or even researching plans for fall (I'm guilty!). This is exactly why it's time for a break. Before we jump in head over heels, let's step back and take a breather. It's not just good for us as homeschool parents, but it's good for our kids! It teaches them that taking a breather is just as much a part of the journey as everything else in our homeschool world!

Our breather does not need to be elaborate, but focused on something that brings more wellness into our lives. I am planning a "spring break" trip to the OBX with dear friends. The best part is that these friends appreciate a relaxing trip, no fanciness needed. The sand, amazing conversation & beautiful views is more than we could ask for. This trip will being increased social and emotional wellness for my entire family and is an important part of maintaining positive wellness in our lives.

It's important to note that a Spring Break or, as I like to think of it, a Spring Breather, does not have to be an extravagent event! As a matter of fact, that can just add stress. So don't let the opportunity for a breather pass you by. Plan something simple and allow more wellness to permeate your homeschool family!

3 Simple Spring Breather Ideas:

1 - Plan a picnic at a local park with friends (consider camping).

2 - Have a pot-luck with friends and play some yard games.

3 - If your spring break involves a snow storm, have some hot chocolates and play card games with family or friends.
